No lotions, soaps, oils and harsh chemicals
When getting dressed, make sure to wear your piece after you have applied any perfumes, oils and/or lotions. These products can wear away the gold layer quicker. Remove all your jewellery before cleaning or working with harsh chemicals. The occasional shower is ok but try to avoid your pieces coming into contact with soap. Gold-filled pieces can we worn in the shower.
Never wear in the pool
Chlorine in pool water can cause serious damage to your plated jewellery. Just 2 hours of being in the pool with plated jewellery causes the same amount of fading as months of normal wear. Avoid wearing your pieces when going swimming in pools or the ocean.
Store pieces with care
When you aren't wearing your jewellery, store them in the pouch they came with or an airtight container. Silver jewellery can tarnish when exposed to air for a long time so it's best to keep pieces in a dark dry place.
